Welcome!
We are so glad that you took some time to find out more about the youth ministry of New Town United Methodist Church. We are blessed to work with some of the most amazing people around - youth! Our desire is to help youth grow as lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ by creating a community in which they belong, know they are loved, and feel safe asking questions and developing their relationship with Jesus. We believe that Christianity is more than a religion. It's all about a life-transforming relationship with Jesus.

Typical Yearly Schedule
Our schedule varies from year to year but hopefully this will give you an idea of the types of events that we do from year to year.
Weekly Events- Wednesday night youth group and Sunday morning breakout groups
Retreats - Usually Fall and/or Spring for both Middle and High School
Mission Trips - We usually do a mission trip every summer. MS trips are usually in Virginia or West Virginia doing minor home repair, outreaches, and ministry to the poor. HS trips vary - we've gone to West Virginia, North Carolina, New York, Boston, Washington D.C, South Carolina, Georgia, and also stayed closer to home. Older high school students also have the opportunity to do international missions - we've had students go to Nicaragua, Columbia and Cuba in recent years.
Fun events - We do a variety of fun events on a regular basis. These events are an easy way for youth to invite friends to youth group and just to enjoy being young! We've done hiking, Busch Gardens, camping trips, cookouts, pool parties, movies and more...
Confirmation - Confirmation is typically for 6th -8th graders and runs from September until May. Classes are on Sunday mornings and include two overnight retreats in September and May.
A new medical form is required each school year!
